Sometimes, some owners think that the administration of two meals a day for the dog means duplicating the ration, but they are wrong. Eating the dog twice means dividing the ration into two, not duplicating it. For example: if the dog has to eat 100 grams of dry food or think for dogs per day, the decision to feed him twice a day does not mean that he gave him 100 in the morning and 100 at night, he means that I must divide them into 50 grams in the morning and 50 at night. The daily ration must always be the same regardless of divisions in the intake per day. At the end of the day, the total grams number is the same.

Here you do not even take into account those who recommend a single meal for comfort or laziness reasons: these people must be re-educated about what it means to take care of a dog. Of course, the water must always be left available, while the meals occur at a specific time, the food bowl is left and the dog has 10 or 15 minutes to eat, then the container must be removed. The dog should not always have a full and available dish for a matter of education, you should know that you have control over food, not him.

What is the number of times that dogs have to eat in particular?

All of the above does not apply if the dog is in special situations. For example, puppies need to eat little and often, they have to do at least 4-5 meals per day until they are minimized from two meals as they grow. Even females during pregnancy and breastfeeding have to eat more frequently: they need more food, but to avoid ingesting large amounts of food, intakes become more frequent.

Dogs with special digestive problems may need to eat little and often, while diabetic dogs usually eat twice a day, shortly after insulin. As for work dogs, in the active phase, their behavior must be modified to guarantee the correct energy intake.
